What are the best books on Business Mindset?

This was a question posed to me by a client last week and it’s a difficult one to answer as there are some really good books out there on business mindset.

I guess a great starting point is the books by Napoleon Hill, so

Here are Some Quick Tips on Ensuring You Have the Correct Business Mindset

1) Confidence – a key way to give you confidence is preparation.  Whenever you are about to go into a business meeting, make sure you prepare.  I’m sure you’ve heard of the saying “failing to plan, is planning to fail”, well the same applies to “failing to prepare is preparing to fail”!

2) Operate “Above the Line”. This is one of our “mantras” at ActionCoach!  You must be in a position where you take ownership, accountability, and responsibility, doing that keeps you “above the line”.  “below the line” is where you are in a mindset of blame, excuses, and denial.  Being “below the line” is where you end up playing the “victim”, “above the line “then you’re in a position of strength and likely to be the “victor”

3) Passion – where does your passion lie? is it helping others? Is it supporting your family? When others see your passion, then you become a magnet

4) Be a leader – leadership comes from within so how are you seen as a leader? Are you someone who conquers problems, or are you part of the problem? Like “passion” a leader acts as a magnet

5) Be humble – do you find yourself saying “I know” e.g. teenage children!!  If so then change your words and say “that’s interesting”, be open to learning and grow

6) Participate – the only failure is failing to participate.  Attach yourself to a successful coach or role model; share with others and be involved

7) Commit to learn – a simple saying is “learning comes before earning and”, “you cannot our earn your learning”

8) Vision – where are you and your business going? What are your personal goals in life? What are your business goals? Will achieving your business goals deliver your personal life goals?

9) Test and measure – keep trying new things and monitor the results.  When it comes to marketing in your business, remember that marketing is an investment so what ROI are you getting on your different marketing spends?  Have 5/6 marketing activities on the go at any one time

10) Communication – keep in regular contact with your prospects, clients, your coach.  Contact and communication leads to trust which leads to a great relationship
